Whilst
Christians spent Easter contemplating the fate of Jesus of Nazareth during the
Roman era the bourgeois media moved to crucify Jeremy Corbyn for the heinous
crime, by Tory standards, of attending a Jewish Seder night that was not to
their liking. Had Corbyn gone to a conventional Zionist bash nothing would have
been said. But the Labour leader chose to accept the invitation to attend a
Jewish Passover dinner organised by a left-wing anti-Zionist Jewish group in
his own constituency.
Corbyn was once again branded an
“anti-Semite”. Members of Jewdas, a radical Jewish movement, are apparently the
‘wrong type’ of Jews according to the Tory media pundits, the Blairites and the
Zionist leaders who claim to represent the Jewish community in Britain. Corbyn
is, of course, a staunch opponent of racism and fascism. His ‘crime’ is simply
that he supports the legitimate rights of the Palestinian Arabs.
The ruling class is pulling out all the
stops to sink Corbyn and make it impossible for him to become Prime Minister.
Their smears are aimed at splitting the Labour Party and keeping the Tories in
office for another five years. Their collaborators are the Blairite fifth
column within the Parliamentary Labour Party and the Zionist apologists within
the labour movement.
Zionism maintains that Jews throughout the
world constitute a nation and that anti-Semitism is incurable and eternal. That
Jews on a world scale, lacking a common territory, language, culture or
economic life, do not constitute a nation in any generally recognised sense of
the term is obvious. Zionism, however, would have Jews and non-Jews believe
that all members of the Jewish faith are in some way the literal descendants of
the Jews of Biblical days. In fact it is nothing more than a reactionary
bourgeois-nationalist ideology of the big Jewish capitalists in the imperialist
world. It tells Jewish workers that their interests are served by Jewish
exploiters and it seeks to colonise Palestine in the same way as the
imperialist powers it allies itself with have done in the past. It was with
good reason that Lenin maintained that: “This Zionist idea is absolutely false
and essentially reactionary.”
Curious and
curiouser…
This
week the weapons experts at the secret military research centre at Porton Down
reiterated that they cannot say where the nerve agent that poisoned the
Skripals was manufactured. Gary Aitkenhead, chief executive of the Defence
Science and Technology Laboratory at Porton Down, said that although the
scientists had managed to identify the chemical used in the Skripal poisoning
case as a “military-grade nerve agent,” they were unable to determine its
“precise source.”
But only two weeks ago Foreign Secretary
Boris Johnson led the bourgeois media stampede against Russia, telling us that
the Porton Down scientists were "absolutely categorical when they
allegedly assured him that "there’s no doubt" that the chemical came
from Russia.
Russia has denied any hand in the alleged
poisoning of the former double-agent and his daughter in Salisbury that put
both of them in hospital last month. The Kremlin, which says that the nerve
agent could have been made in 20-odd other countries, is demanding an apology
from the May government, which used the Skipal affair to drum up anti-Russian
hysteria and to justify the expulsion of Russian diplomats in Britain and the
rest of the imperialist world.
That abuse then turned on Jeremy Corbyn,
who condemned the poisoning but refused to point the finger at Russia until
evidence was produced to justify the Government’s claims. Now Corbyn has been
proved right. Will Mrs May apologise to the Labour leader or the Russian
government? Don’t hold your breath…
